Yes, you.  The guy on the bicycle on Folsom between 7th and 8th this morning.  What's that you say?  There were lots of guys on bicycles at that place at that time?  Ok, I'll be more specific.  The guy smoking a bong, on a bicycle this morning on Folsom between 7th and 8th.  Yes, you.

Are you aware that you're swerving dangerously between two lanes?  Are you further aware that there's a dedicated bicycle lane two lanes to the right of the two lanes you're currently not-exclusively in?

Now I enjoy a bit of surrealist cabaret, especially in the mornings.  However, it was a bit too much for me to handle when while stopped at the next light you rode up and actually leaned on the hood of my car to keep yourself from falling over.  I was a bit too flabbergasted to react as I should've done.  Next time I'll be prepared, oh yes.

Hey when'd that happen?  Vox got .html suffixes at the end of post url's.  That wasn't always like that, was it?  What gives?

markpasc posted a Dear Vox earlier today and I wanted to follow it up with one of my own.  So...

Dear Vox,

Is it possible for me to view protected content via an external feed reader?  The help page on feeds has the following to say on the subject:

Some news readers can't read private posts, so that is something to be aware of as you use feeds and news readers.

What it doesn't tell me is which feed readers can read private posts, and how to authenticate against Vox using those feed readers so that private content will actually show up.

+1 to markpasc's call for singlethreaded comments.

Also; sometimes (like now) comments just don't cut it and you need to respond to someone's post with a post of your own.  I wish Vox could do this as easily as YouTube.

Lazy Vox / Amazing Vid

Dear Lazy Vox,

I was just given the url to a YouTube video I'd love to add to my Vox account.  However, the owner of the video has not properly tagged it, so I cannot access it via the YouTube conduit.  I know the URL for the video, and subsequently its YouTube id (Q2L893SJNoY), but I still can't figure out how to get this video into Vox. 

Regarding said video, it's well-produced live recording of one of my favorite bands.  It really captures the essence of the group; their energy.  If you're not a fan already, you'll be one by the time the video is over.

Yosemite, Labor Day '06

Scotty, Xiu and I went to Yosemite for Labor Day.  Here's my flickr set.  We...

• Camped at Tamarack Flat
• Climbed Lembert Dome as high as we could
• Drank from the naturally-carbonated Soda Springs
  
• Hiked off Sunrise Trail and went swimming at a water hole
• Climbed down a steep rock face that's usually under water
• Stopped off for a quick view at Glacier Point
• Braved a horde of tourists down in the valley
• Rented bikes and cycled through the valley
• Drove Tioga Pass
• Saw Mono Lake from afar
• Drove through a half-dozen active wildfires on the way home
